Welcome to the SecondLife island of Matanzas

Somewhere in SecondLife, far from the crowds, far from the SL mainland, far from the Destination Guide, is an island paradise called Matanzas. Here, you’ll find waterfalls, beaches, jungles, even a rain forest. A place where only a few lucky residents live, because theres only 9 homes on the entire island! Its a place to escape. To find your own virtual peace. No nosey cam’ing neighbors, no intruding strangers, everything is set for total privacy and peace of mind. Even the seagulls that circle over the Island’s Bay are scripted not to dirty the benches that line the Island dock.

On Matanzas, all homes have ocean views and are on the beach. On the island everyone is special and unique, no two homes are the same. The Island is so lush that all Island properties are landscaped so you’ll never see a neighbors house from yours.

Like waterfalls? On Matanzas, theres 3. They’re very special as they were all custom made for the Island. The Island rain forest is atop the Main Falls feed the great step waterfall. This is the largest waterfall on the Island. You can hear the roar of the falls as you approach it in the clearing, Here you’ll find flamingos playing and Koi swimming and dragon flies flirting above the water.

As most tropical islands were formed by ancient volcanos, Matanzas has many high peaks and hills. The island is blessed with much fresh water making it so very tropical and lush. Wild flowers are everywhere. Many of the hills and peaks have look out spots to enjoy the beautiful views. Some of the peaks are so high, on one you’ll find the tallest waterfall on the Island.

On the south coast of the island, lies the third waterfall. These falls are formed high above in a hilltop forest and cascade down to the ocean. In the Southern falls riverlet, you’ll find Koi and herons. The South coast waterfall is a beautiful hidden gem on the Island.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this quick tour of Matanzas. In the next blogs, I’ll take you on a tour of the Island homes and other builds on the island. If you’re interested in visiting Matanzas, please know you’re welcome to visit. All we ask is that you respect the Islander residents privacy when walking the beaches and exploring the Island. On the next blogs, I’ll even include an Island map
